Few years ago, I was sitting with my dear friends in a bistro Delhi. It was the time of approximately 7:00 or 8:00 pm.
A son took his aged father to that bistro for an evening dinner. Father was being very old and weak. While he start eating, dropped food on his shirt and trousers. Other persons in bistro, was watching him in abhorrence while his son was quiet.
After he finished his food, his son who was all comfortable, quietly took him to the washroom and wiped the food particles, detached the stains, combed his hair, and fitted his glasses firmly. When they came out, the entire bistro was examining them in dead silence. They are not able to take hold of how someone could embarrass himself or herself publicly like that.
The son paid the bill and started walking out with his father.
At that time, an old man in the center of the bistro called out to the son and asked him, “Don’t you think you have left something at the back?”
The son replied, “No sir, I haven’t.”
The old man retorted, “Yes, you have! You left a lesson for every son and hope for every father“.
I was there and watching this incident, and I thought – ‘’ old man was right. He left a massage to everyone.
That incident really left a huge impact on my life. Before that day, I never thought about my parents, who were living in the village alone. I always feel ashamed whenever I went outside with them because they are illiterate and I am well educated.
After this incident I have an a guilt in my heart. Whatever I did with my parents that was totally wrong. When we were child they did lots of sacrifice what they can do for us to make our carrier but what we do with them when we become well educated and establish we left our parents alone in their old age when they need our care, our support, our time, and love.
Now I understood the importance of my parents in my life.
And I am living with them with proud, love and great affection towards them.
I hope all of you would also get a massage from this incident.’’
